You want to be the best, and you want to win, to overcome your limitations because that feels so empowering, so incredible good! You are ready to put a huge amount of effort in, you are dedicated and you’ve already achieved a good progress. But you feel that is not enough, and you know there is much more you can give. However, you might feel stuck, or defeated or you might feel you do not have the physical energy you want to have, and that holds you back. And it is so frustrating and so tiring, but you are not giving up.
Let’s look at the principles of a bumblebee: its body is not quite aerodynamic and apparently not meant to be flying but against all these, the bumblebee managed to adapt to a different technique that allows it to fly. And so you will be adapting to what is needed for you to succeed.
There are a few factors to be taken in consideration when you aim to win: your training coach’s approach, your physical and mental abilities, and the environment. All these will be in constant movement, constant change, they might not be ideal at times and most of them are not under your control.
Now, I want to you to think about how many times you have had a conscious argument with your unconscious. For example your unconscious was telling you that you cannot continue anymore, that that is it, that all this it is too much for you. How many times you’ve answered back to yourself saying it is not true what you are telling yourself, and you continued training? Despite that, your training was unbearably painful, you were terrified of failure or you were so close to burnout. Working on your mental abilities will help you overcome these situations. Imagine the strength and the energy you’ll feel when you train your mind to work for you!
