Perfection

Perfection comes in different shapes, sizes and moods.

Have you noticed how much pressure that puts on yourself, when you are trying to be perfect? Perfect smile, perfect look, perfect shape, perfect reaction, perfect partner, perfect child, perfect leader or employee. It’s all too much! The list is endless, and so the stress that comes with it.

Ok, we know is not comfortable, but at the same time can be beneficial. Wait, what?! Yes, in small balanced doses, perfection has its place: keeps you in tune with the society’s requirements, and that helps you being accepted and loved. That sounds … PERFECT! But, when perfection crosses the limits of the healthy thinking, it can be dangerous. That might sound absurd! Unfortunately, it is not absurd. The perception of not being perfect can lead to fear, low confidence, low self-esteem, can impact your relationships and even your work.

What can you do?

Understand where is your need of perfection coming from. Find ways to accept yourself as you are while you keep moving to achieve what you are dreaming to be. Surround yourself with supportive people. Embrace your alone time. Celebrate the now. You are enough now!

Remember

Practice makes you better, perfection does not exist.
