Fears

Fears, like all the other negatives or as I like to call them painful emotions, are natural and part of the human experience. Fear keeps us safe, as long as it is rational. But when can we make the distinction between rational and irrational fear? It all depends on your personal circumstances, environment and tolerance. What is scary for you is nothing for others and vice-versa. Fear is subjective, to a degree.

What is the reason we feel fear?

Perceiving fear is healthy. It tells us that something is wrong and that we are in danger. But are we really in danger when we perceive that debilitating fear that prevents us from doing our normal activities and enjoying life? I’ll let you answer that.

What can we do?

There are therapeutic techniques that can teach you how to confront your fears. You can learn to master your fears by rewiring your brain with a new pattern of thinking. Get in tune with yourself and with your own needs, then you’ll understand your fears. It all sounds easy right?! If only! The challenging part is to find out how to apply all of those, and how to put them into action. Educate yourself, read, look at the people you admire, go to workshops, watch inspiring documentaries. Conquer your fears!
